Details

Ukrainian Microsoft Azure Community welcomes you to online hands-on workshop dedicated to such hot topics as AI and serverless in the cloud.

During this worksop we will pay maximum attention to hands-on, so everyone should be ready to roll up the sleves and get their hands a bit dirty. We prepared a set of instructions that we will share at the beginning of the workshop. Attendees' job will be to build an application that will connect the 3 technologies together:

  • Azure Cognitive Services - the easiest way to start with AI in the cloud
  • Microsoft Bot Framework - to use your favorite messenger as a communication channel with AI
  • Azure Functions - to host Microsoft Bot Framework and connect it to Azure Cognitive Services

A few examples of what you can build during the workshop:

  • Smart lock application. By using Azure Cognitive Services Face API you will be able to teach AI to recognize your face. Then you will be able to send any photo to messenger and AI will open the virtual lock (if your face is recognized) or will keep it closed (if your face is not on the photo).
  • Dangerous item finder. By using Azure Cognitive Services Custom Vision API you will be able to teach your AI what qualifies as dangerous items (explosives, sharp items, etc.) and what does not (teddy bears, laptops, mobile phones, keys, etc.). Then you will be able to send the photo of any item to messenger and AI will classify it as either dangerous or not.

The mandatory pre-requisites to attend the workshop are the following:

  • Active Microsoft Azure Subscription. Free trial will be more than enough https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/free/.
  • Microsoft Teams application. Free version can be downloaded from here https://products.office.com/en-US/microsoft-teams/group-chat-software.

In addition to that we also recommend to install the following tools locally on your machine:

  • AZ CLI.
  • Azure Functions CLI.
  • Microsoft Azure Storage Explorer.
  • Postman.

And, the last, but not least, we like to announce that our partners prepared some e-gifts for those attendees who will put maximum effort into the workshop. Details will be disclosed at the beginning of the workshop.
